TAKE ME HOME!

"Venice: Lost and Found": Los Angeles Theatrical Release (2002)   This independent doc about Venice Beach screened at the Laemmle's theater in Santa Monica for one week.  Publicity hits included 2 1/2 page features in the LA Times, one on my client, director Brad Bemis, and one a film review that used three images from the film.  Pitching ten different people at the Times didn't hurt, but neither did Brad's choice of subject or his snazzy good looks!

"Good Housekeeping": Grass Roots Marketing, New York City (2002)   This independent film was released by Menemsha Films and its director, Frank Novak, with a run at New York City's Pioneer Theater in fall of 2002.  I ran grass roots marketing campaigns including producing promo materials (miniposters for store windows, T-shirts, stickers, matchbooks, etc.), hiring and managing a distribution street crew, booking screenings and networking with Slamdance and IFP and other film communities.  My favorite grass roots promotional idea was a contest which my clients nixed, but check it out.

"Second Skin": Los Angeles Theatrical Press (2001)
Produced by Lola Films this gay melodrama stars four of Spain's most delicious stars: Javier Bardem, Jordi Mola, Cecilia Roth and Ariadna Gil.  Working for Menemsha Films I managed LA publicity for a Nuart release writing press materials, booking press screenings and recruiting Oren Dori to run club promotions and street marketing and promoted the film through QV Magazine's annual Conga Room birthday bash, radio promotions and an Outfest screening.  Hits included 18 reviews and four features including a 2-page color story in the LA Spanish language daily "La Opinion", putting to bed the fear the paper won't cover gay film.

"101 Reykjavik": Domestic Press Agent, Domestic Booker (2001)   A quirky comedy from Iceland; it's only celebrity was Victoria Abril and the musicians who created the score.  My work for Menemsha Films included writing press materials, promoting the film during its Nuart run and making bookings on indie screens around the country.

"The Remembering Movies": LA Short Film Festival Festival Press Agent (2002) Indie short directed by Chris Rowley (Drop of Water Productions).  Festival publicity, press release, press contact.

Other PR and Marketing projects have included work for House of Blues, Solid Entertainment, Bragman, Nyman Cafarelli, Kushner-Locke, Honeywell/DMC, TSI/Sharper Image, IFDC, Scanbox International.
